Through my many years of experience with English education, I was able to see firsthand how difficult it is to acquire a high level of English language ability with conventional English education. I, myself sent my children to an international school in order for them to study English. All of the students attending that school naturally spoke English and in 3 years had grown to become native English speakers.
From these experiences, I realized that the ideal age for acquiring languages and that with the least impact on future studies was before entering elementary school and felt the urge to create an environment where these children could learn English in a natural way. Hoping to provide a fun setting with an original curriculum so that as many students as possible could acquire English through daily educational activities and childcare, I established ‘IBK International Bilingual Kindergarten’ in April of 2006.
I have directly experienced the large amount of time, money and effort required for someone raised in the Japanese educational system to master English after becoming an adult. Even many adults who spend 1 to 2 years studying abroad are not satisfied with their level of English-speaking ability.
Children who experience a foreign culture are known for having open-minded, proactive personalities. We hope to deliver a sound education in order to cultivate children who realize the importance of accepting others’ differences, have the ability to actively communicate with the world around them and get along amicably with those they encounter without compromising their own rights and interests.
